Unifor members at CAMI Assembly in Ingersoll, Ont. made it official Monday by ratifying an agreement to convert the plant to Canada's first electric vehicle manufacturer. GM Announces a New $560 Million Investment for Ingersoll, Ontario Plant

General Motors of Canada President, Steve Carlisle, announced that GM will invest an additional C$560 million to prepare GM’s CAMI Assembly plant in Ingersoll, Ontario to be a manufacturing location of the next generation Chevrolet Equinox. Of the total investment, GM will invest $190 million directly at CAMI Assembly in manufacturing equipment and tools and $370 million in vendor tooling with suppliers in Canada.
