Percon Developments Breaks Ground on New Perth East Industrial Subdivision

Representatives from Percon Developments Inc. officially broke ground on their planned industrial subdivision in Milverton Friday morning, something local politicians say will help drive employment and economic development in the Township of Perth East and surrounding Perth County.

The 35-hectare (86.5-acre) subdivision at the south end of Milverton will serve as a landing spot for new business investment and will help further diversify the economic base in the township and the county, officials said in a release. The industrial subdivision will cater to a variety of uses including agriculture and agriculture-related businesses.

“I’m so happy that they’re building here and what a great boost for Perth East,” Perth County Warden and Perth East Mayor Rhonda Ehgoetz said at the groundbreaking ceremony. “So we’re really excited. … On behalf of (Perth East) council, we’re so happy and, for our community, it’s a great boost for economic development.”

Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae described the new investment as a “great boost for economic development” for both the municipality and the entire county.
