Town of Tillsonburg approves industrial land sale to Wise Line Metal Sales Inc
Tillsonburg Town Council approved the sale of seven acres of industrial land to Wise Line Metal Sales Inc at their February 8, 2016 Council meeting. The land sale will enable Wise Line Metal Sales to expand their operations through the construction of a new 30,000 square foot industrial building in the Town’s Van Norman Industrial Park.
Wise Line Metal Sales Inc is a custom manufacturer of metal siding, roofing, garages and steel products for the agricultural and construction industries. They have been in business for over ten years and are continuing to grow. As they are unable to expand at their current location, they are looking for a new location for their business. Staff has been working with representatives from Wise Line since 2015 to find a suitable location in Tillsonburg.
"We are pleased to announce that Wise Line Metal Sales will be relocating to Tillsonburg" says David Wieler, Co-owner. "Our business has been experiencing growing pains and a new building will enable our business to accommodate new and existing business while improving the efficiency and productivity of our operations", he adds.
"I am pleased to welcome Wise Line Metal Sales and their employees to the community on behalf of the Town," says Tillsonburg Mayor Stephen Molnar. "One of the goals identified in the Community Strategic Plan is providing a variety of employment opportunities in Tillsonburg and attracting Wise Line Metal Sales here supports growth across multiple sectors", he adds.
"Wise Line Metal Sales looks forward to supporting both existing and new customers at its future location" says Co-owner Dwight Steven, "many of our customers are located in the Greater Tillsonburg Area and this move will help us serve them better". "Our tool division offers a wide variety of products to meet agricultural, construction and contractor needs, and we look forward to adding to our product mix at our new location", he adds.
"The Town of Tillsonburg moved quickly to meet our needs and provide us with the information required to make this decision", says Co-owner Dan Wieler, "and based on our experience with the Economic Development Department, we would highly recommend them to other companies."
The land sale will facilitate approximately 20 jobs while providing for additional employment growth in the future. Construction is anticipated to start in Spring 2016 with occupancy by the end of the year.
